SMS and mobile phone batteries

Post by aeolius » Fri Jan 26, 2018 5:42 pm

Hi

I am interested in your system but nervous about having a mobile phone with a Li-ion battery on permanent charge on the boat - fire is my big worry. How do the SMS msgs work ? Can I get by without a Li-ion battery ?

Tks

There is no requirement for a mobile phone on board - the Boat Control Unit notifies a central server which then sends email and/or SMS if there is an alarm. We're not fans of Li-ion battery charging unsupervised either :)

BTW we shall shortly be releasing a new Sensor Control for a smoke alarm - which might be of interest to you.

If I don't make sense then do post again
