The Skipper's Mate system is based around the Raspberry Pi and the hardware is specific to that. For that reason, if you purchase a kit from us we will have tested the makes and models to ensure that the equipment works with the Pi. And for that reason, we supply ALL the hardware for a given kit to ensure that it does all work together.
If you are setting the system up yourself you can either refer to the web site http://www.skippersmate.co.uk and the documentation accompanying the Open Source download which lists some of the equipment we have tested successfully or you can refer to the RPi Verified Peripherals - Google for RPi Verified Peripherals. You may also want to refer to the http://elinux.org/RPi_USB_Wi-Fi_Adapters if you are intending to purchase an add-on wireless access point (not relevant if you use the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B which has on-board wireless to act as an AP.
We hope to answer all of these here - but undoubtedly we'll miss some ! "How to I?" questions in relevant sections under the Knowledge Base tree.
